Meet Our Physicians

 

 Dr. Erin Calhoun   

Dr. Calhoun was born in Saskatchewan and grew up near the rural community of Eatonia.  After high school she attended the University of Saskatchewan, in Saskatoon, where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Physiology as well as her Doctor of Medicine.   After marrying locally, she moved to Alberta and completed the remainder of her training through the University of Alberta Rural Family Medicine Residency Program in Red Deer.

 She enjoys rural life and lives on a farm with her husband who owns and operates a custom feedlot.  Together they have 2 sons and 1 daughter who keep them busy! 

 Dr. Calhoun enjoys all areas of family practice but has a special interest in Obstetrics.  She is accepting new maternity patients for prenatal, delivery & early postpartum care.            

 


 

Dr. Anish Chari    

Dr. Chari was born in San Diego in the United States. He moved to Alberta in 1993 and finished secondary school in Calgary. He completed his Biology degree and Doctor of Medicine at the University of Alberta. He completed an additional year of Anesthesia training in Edmonton.

 Dr. Chari is married to Adrionne & together they have a son (Oscar) & daughter (Clara).

 Dr. Chari is willing to follow maternity patients up to 32 weeks and then he transfers care to a doctor who can provide deliveries.

 


 

 

Dr. Bank Jaiyesimi   

 Dr. Bankole Jaiyesimi, aka “Dr. Jay” was born in IjebuIgbo, Ogunstate, Nigeria.  He attended local high school in Ijebu Igbo before proceeding to the Ogunstate University in Nigeria to pursue his MB CHB degree.  He did 3 years of Residency in internal medicine before heading to Witwatersrand University in Johannesburg (South Africa) for his masters in family medicine.  He obtained a diploma in family practice in HIV medicine from the U.K.

 Dr. Jay is blessed with his lovely family Candice and their two boys. He also has two girls from his previous relationship.  Dr. Jay was born rural & he enjoys the rural community practice with special interest in chronic disease and geriatrics.

 


 

 Dr. Wessel Joubert 

Dr Joubert was born and raised in Johannesburg South Africa . He recently came to Three Hills after practicing for five years in South Africa. He completed his bachelor’s of Medicine and bachelor’s of Surgery at the University of the Free State – a province much similar to Alberta. He worked in various hospitals throughout his career , and was also a lecturer. He is currently completing his Masters in Medical Education.

 He has a passion for the performing arts. He directed and stage managed various productions. He loves the outdoors and traveling.

 Dr Joubert’s medical practice , covers all ages and maternity patients up to 32 weeks.  He also does hospital and emergency coverage.

 


                                  

 Dr. Adina McBain        

Dr. McBain was born in Hanna & raised in Oyen.  She loves the rural lifestyle & is thrilled to be creating a family with her wonderful husband!  As of June 2016, they have one daughter.

Her medical degree was completed at the University of Calgary.  She then moved to Red Deer for 2 years of residency through the University of Alberta. 

Since 2013, Dr. McBain has been working locally.  She has a general practice with special interests in low-risk obstetrics, medical administration & the education of medical students/residents.

 


 Dr. Funke Ojomu

Dr. Ojomu was born in northern Nigeria and attended local primary and secondary schools in western Nigeria. She completed her Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. She then proceeded for five years of residency training in family medicine at the Jos University Teaching Hospital, Nigeria, and obtained a fellowship with the West African College of Physicians in Family Medicine (FWACP). Her passion for proactive care in family practice prompted her to complete a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. She also has a diploma in Occupational Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians, London, UK. She has worked as a family physician and trainer in various hospitals both in rural communities and cities. Dr. Ojomu’s medical practice covers all ages, and she also provides hospital and emergency coverage. She is happily married to Paul, and their family is blessed with Priscilla, Paul, and Peter.

 


 

Dr. Martin Reedyk

Dr Reedyk was born in Holland. He and his family immigrated to Canada in 1952. He attended the U of A for university and medical school, graduating in 1969.  Dr Reedyk was  involved in mission medical work in Nigeria from 1970 – 1978. From 1978 -1989 he worked in High Level, Alberta. He has lived and worked in Three Hills since 1989.

He enjoys spending time with his 3 daughters and 10 grandchildren. The focus of his medical practice is psychotherapy. 

 


 

 Dr. Luke Savage

 Dr. Savage was born and raised in Alberta, spending time in both small rural towns and large urban centers throughout his life. He has a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with Honors from the University of Calgary, while both his Doctor of Medicine and residency training programs were completed at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Dr. Savage enjoys staying active, playing hockey in the winter and cycling and hiking in the summer. His favorite activity is spending time with his beautiful wife, Ashley, and their children Caleb, Joah and Hannah. Dr. Savage’s medical practice covers all ages, from conception until natural death, including maternity care, as well as hospital and emergency coverage.
